This 7 days prime Uganda safaris sees you to queen Elizabeth national park, Murchison falls national park and Kidepo valley national park for Uganda’s wildlife experience .
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wake up early, have breakfast at your hotel then meet your guide/driver. Then embark on a long trip to Queen Elizabeth National park about 6 hours drive from Kampala. The park is located in western Uganda in the districts of Kasese. En route at Mbarara town for Lunch at Igongo cultural center, then proceed to the Queen Elizabeth park arriving late in the evening and do a little evening game drive as you find your lodge. Dinner and Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Park View lodge/ Enganzi Lodge (mid-range).
Day 2: Morning game drive in Ishasha sector and Afternoon boat ride
Early in the morning after your delicious breakfast, set off to Ishasha sector a home of the fascinating climbing lions, you will be able to see lions lazily lying on tree branches, including other animals. Retreat to the lodge for lunch and prepare for your boat ride to the Kazinga channel. You will get an opportunity to see a number of bird species, elephants and buffalos, hippos and crocodiles. Return and relax at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Park View lodge/Enganzi Lodge (Mid Range).
Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls national park
After having breakfast in the morning, set off through fort portal to reach Murchison falls national park with en route lunch in Masindi town. Then continue to the park and proceed to the top of the falls. While here, you will enjoy falls and witness the Nile river explode violently and form a very powerful waterfalls. Later in the evening check in your lodge for relaxation, proceed to check in your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Fort Murchison lodge (midrange), Paraa safari lodge (luxury), Red chill (budget).
Day 4: Game drive and boat ride on River Nile
Have early morning breakfast at your lodge, you will proceed for a game drive in search of animals, expect to meet animals like buffalos, waterbucks, lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, Jackson’s heart beasts, oribis, warthogs and other species of animals at the delta. Return later to the lodge for lunch and freshening and prepare for an afternoon activity. After lunch at 2:00pm, report at the landing site to start your boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. At the comfort of your boat, you will see different animal species such as hippos, crocodiles, elephants and buffaloes at the water edges including different bird species. This boat trip is about 3 to 4 hours cruise. Dinner and overnight stay at Fort Murchison lodge (midrange), Paraa safari lodge (luxury), Red chilly (budget)
Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo national park
Very early in the morning, have breakfast and set off to a long journey of about 8 hours with lunch en route, to Kidepo national park-a true African destination for wilderness. Despite its long distance, Kidepo national park is the only park in Uganda where you will have a true experience of variety of wildlife ranking it the third best national park in Africa by CNN travel channel. You will go through the northern part of Uganda- the land that experienced war-Gulu, then continue to Karamoja region – Kitgum, then finally into the valley of kidepo national park. You will arrive late evening in the park then check in your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Apoka safari lodge(luxury), Nga’Moru Wilderness camp(midrange), Uganda Wildlife Authority Bandas (budget), Camping in the wilderness at the Bush camps.
Day 6: All day game drive to Kanangorok hot springs
Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and catch the sun rise behind the mountain, then set off for a morning game drive heading north of the park with your packed lunch. Along with your ranger guide, drive to the hot springs via the palm trees lined Kidepo River. Along your drive, you will be able to view a farm of ostriches including herds of elephants, cape buffaloes, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs and many other animals then finally the finally you will take some time at the hot springs. After that great game drive return to the lodge for lunch, you can relax and later in the afternoon you can do a guided nature walk through the park. Dinner and overnight stay at Apoka safari lodge(luxury), Nga’Moru Wilderness camp(midrange), Uganda Wildlife Authority Bandas(budget), Camping in the wilderness at the Bush camps.
Day 7: Charter flight transfer to Kampala
In the morning after having breakfast at 7:00am, drive through the park on your way to the airstrip while viewing wildlife in big numbers; enjoy sighting herds of elephants, cape buffaloes, lions, giraffes and antelopes and Zebras. The driver will then drop you off to Apoka Airstrip to meet your charter flight back to kajjansi airstrip using FLY UGANDA. Then connect to the airport to catch your flight back home.
