Jacana safari lodge, is situated in Queen Elizabeth national park in south western part of Uganda and is one of the Geo-lodges that have received numerous awards and ranked by New York Times as one of the best places one should see before they depart from earth.

The superb lodge is positioned at the shores of Ugandans largest Crater Lake Nyamusingire and the out skirts of Maramagambo forest.

The lodge has masterly been built and designed with African architecture with volcanic rocks, hard wood forest logs, organic furniture materials, and ropes on a rain forest forming magical connection to nature with panoramic views of the lake and forest canopy.

The hotel features a majestic out door swimming pool with sun loungers. The restaurant provides month watering menus  of local and international cuisine meals along with snacks with an onsite bar containing local and international soft and hard drinks, a sauna and massage area is also available with a fire place where you can sit back in the evening under Africa’s sparkling stars.

The check in time for visitors is at 12:00pm east African time and check out time is by 10:00am east African time the maximum age for children staying for free is 5years old.

A minimum deposit of 25% of total value of booking should always be made within two days after booking and balance payment should be made two weeks prior to arrival.

Jacana safari lodge is also loctaed close to the park where you can take a game drive in the afternoons and view Uganda’s unique tree climbing lions lazily lying on acacia and sycomore trees and view other wild life like leopards, elephants, lions giant forest hogs among others.

Queen Elizabeth has also been rated as a national park with highest number of birds with over 600 bird species such as fawn breasted wax-bill, dark caped yellow warbler, red-tailed bristle bill and African grey pigeon which you can find around the lodge premises.

Besides bird watching and game drives you can take a boat cruise at the kazinga channel swarmed with many animals at the shores and hippos.

The superb Kyambura Gorge is an ideal place for chimpanzee trekking and viewing other primates like the olive baboon and olive monkey among the rest, above all you can take a forest walk to Maragambo forest that a stones throw from the lodge at the forest.

You will come across the melicia excela tree believed to be over 500 years old with the famous bat caves harboring African rock pythons with a well trained tour guide he will explain to you the ancient myths associated with the forest and the villages found around.
