Ishasha Ntungwe river camp, is situated in Queen Elizabeth national park in western Ugandan offering very affordable and pocket friendly self-contained accommodation with hot water supplies.

The accommodation units are two types, two raised tents perched along Ntungwe River and a bit far from the river side other five other luxury tents.

All tents provide inspiring views of the Ntungwe River viewed from porches, within where tea or coffee can be served in the mornings and enjoy the prodigious plains of the Ishasha plains.

The camp is also an advantage due to its location, near the Ishasha gaming tracks its extraordinary in the evenings when you relax at the porch and night times with the chattering of the birds from the river banks and monkey cries and elephant sounds moving the community farms.

This lodge offers two dining sections one near the reception area and other by the river banks.

The dining near the river banks is not always used as the area is muddy and floods occur during heavy rains.

It’s also situated near the elephant trails and you can have spectacular views of the Ntugwe riverine forest canopy.

The dining provide  mouthwatering menus of both local and international cuisine, prepared by experienced chefs, with each meal provided with starters and ends with deserts with an immense swimming pool where you can relax after a hot safari day.

The well-stocked bar also provides variety of drinks both soft and hot and many types available depending on your choice

Take a game drive to Queen Elizabeth national park gate which is about 3 kilometers from the camp and view the renowned tree climbing lions, with unique future of manes on the males, the reason for lions climbing trees is not well known .But some assert that they are escaping from the ground heat at day time or escaping from tsetse flies and others insects on the ground.

However, on top of the unique tree climbing lions you can have awesome views of numerous animals on the Ishasha plains like elephants, buffaloes, leopards, hyenas, antelopes like the Tope and Ugandan kob among other animals. Besides the game drives you can start your safari from your tent if you’re a bird lover waking up from the singing birds and viewing them all the way to the park. The birds within the camp are the Fish eagle, Grey capped warblers, Sun birds, Turacos, and  Sun lovers among others
